DAY 1

Arrive London

We begin our ' Highlights of UK' tour in the capital of the country, London, the city that boasts as much of a rich historic past as it does of a modern cityscape. Arrive in London where we are warmly welcomed by our representative who meets us at the airport's exit. Our representative then ensures that we are comfortably transferred to the hotel (check-in after 1600 hours). Our today's schedule comprises enjoying a sumptuous dinner which will be served at an Indian restaurant and returning to the hotel for a good night's sleep. Overnight in London and dinner at the hotel.

DAY 2

London

After breakfast today, we head on to London discovering expedition with a guided trip of the city which takes us past all monumental structures of the town comprising the Piccadilly Circus, the Hyde Park, the Trafalgar Square, the Houses of Parliament, the Big Ben, the Westminster Abbey, (also witness the Change of Guard ceremony at the palace depending on operational technicalities), the London Bridge, the Buckingham Palace, and much more. Next on our itinerary is a visit to one of the world's largest museums of art, the Victoria and Albert Museum. It houses a collection of over 2.3 million objects from various streams of art including fine arts, photography, architecture, fashion, etc. forming a narrative that spans over a period of 5000 years. Given that the museum was established with the sole purpose of serving as a classroom for art and design, the buildings themselves are a fine masterpiece of Victorian architecture, one that has often left sightseers in awe. After spending some time in the plush settings of the museum, move on to the next destination, the Natural History Museum. As can be guessed from the name itself, the museum is dedicated to natural sciences housing some 80 million odd specimens that narrate the evolution of life on earth; from fossils of the tiniest insects to the skeleton of a 25.2 metre tall female whale (the newest addition to the Green Zone) to that of a giant Stegosaurus. Making this journey of existentialism even more fun and dramatic are the interactive exhibits such as the earthquake simulator or the ride into the centre of the earth. Overwhelmed with the excursions so far, we bring the day to a close on a lighter note and spend some leisure time at the Oxford Street, one of Europe's busiest fashion streets. Here, you could either give in to the urge to splurge or simply sit back with a cup of tea or coffee taking in the hustle-bustle of this lively street. Then, return back to the hotel, enjoy dinner and call it a night. Overnight in London. Breakfast at the hotel and dinner at the hotel.

DAY 3

London

After breakfast, we can either spend our day at leisure lazing around at the hotel or embark on a self-exploration journey or choose to take the highly recommendable London Delights tour. If we choose the last, however, we sure are in for something downright amazing. Overnight in London. Breakfast at the hotel and dinner at the hotel.

DAY 4

London

We have yet another day filled with choices! After the delicious breakfast, you can either enjoy some free time by yourself or select to go on the elective UK Heritage tour. Overnight in London. Breakfast at the hotel and dinner at the hotel.

DAY 5

Homeward Bound

We are already on our final day of the tour and we still have some sightseeing to do. Hence, we hurriedly take our breakfast, check-out from the hotel and head straight to Manchester. The beautiful long drive over UK's stunning cityscapes and a small comfort break later, we reach in the very heart of Manchester, the Albert Square. Here, we spend some leisure time self-exploring the square in all its Gothic-Victorian glory with architectural gems like the Town Hall (the dominant structure of the square), the memorial of Prince Albert (the first of many Albert memorials in UK) and the Gothic style Jubilee Fountain among others. We then continue to explore more of this relatively small yet wonderful town with the orientation tour, wandering past monumental structures such as the Manchester Museum, John Rylands Library, the Old Trafford stadium and many others. And just like that, it's time to bring this holiday to a close. With a mind full of great memories and a bag full of souvenirs, we proceed to the Manchester airport to board our flight back home.
